Biography

The ensemble.konsax.wien is the ensemble consisting of Lars Mlekusch´s students at the Konservatorium Wien University, one of the leading saxophone studios in the world. The ensemble is performing transcriptions as well as new works dedicated to them and also interdisciplinary projects with dancers. at the congress the ensemble will present a new piece by Austrian/Venezolan composer Jorge Sanchez Chiong. The young saxophonists in this academic year come from Austria, Spain, Italy, Armenia, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Chile, USA, Japan, Hong Kong.

The ensemble will present two new pieces by emminent Austrian based composers Fuentes and Sanchez-Chiong as well as a new work by Duncan Youngerman and the work Left Eye Dance (from Opera Licht – aus Samstag) by Karlheinz Stockhausen. The ensemble.konsax.wien will make the world premiere recording of this work for the CD Edition of the Stockhausen Stiftung.
