The first World Sax Day will be held in Strasbourg and all over the world on Sunday 12th July 2015 during SaxOpen, the 17th World Saxophone Congress and Festival. This joyous celebration will gather professionals, amateurs and music-loving audiences from around the globe – for one day – in order to celebrate the saxophone. The program will include a variety of musical genres and will set up camp at cultural heritage sites throughout Strasbourg, as well as all over the world.
Professionals and amateurs are invited to celebrate the saxophone on Sunday, July 12th of 2015, in person or online. We want everyone to participate wherever they are, and regardless of their playing level or experience on saxophone. Anyone and everyone will have a role to play in this communal and interactive creation! Take a moment to find out about these activities, and discover the many different ways you can Get in the Games!
The various performances all over the world will be broadcast online live via a WebTV during World Sax Day. The festivities will be augmented as the hours go by through a variety of interconnected events, hoping to bridge saxophonists together spanning all continents. The culmination of the day’s celebration is the final performance, the “World Streaming Show”.
