Biography

Brilliantly winning the international competition in 2014 that bears my name,
Yo Matsushita, superbly demonstrated the richness of his personality. He is a natural-born concert-artist, and I am sure he will have a most successful future.

Yo Matsushita received at 14 years of age a master’s degree from the Tokyo National University of the Arts (in the class of Masato Ikegami), and three years later, won the First Grand Prize at the Jean-Marie Londeix International
Saxophone Competition (Bangkok, 2014).
He has already accepted important concert engagements in Japan, including
Tokyo, and in Europe, particularly in France, with the Strasbourg Philharmonic in a substantial piece composed for him by François Rossé.
