A presentation dedicated to saxophonists who intimately bind to the rock music either personally or through their involvement in a rock band.

Biography

Arsène Ott is a saxophonist and a librarian.
As saxophonist he is a member of the music group Daidal : http: // lospinguinos-alternatifs.net/daidal/ and plays also solo performances.
As librarian he livened up numerous conferences on the history of jazz, as well as the relations between jazz and cinema within the libraries of Strasbourg.

Present saxophonists on the rock scene, and/or places and presences of the saxophone in the story of rock music.

Saxophonists viscerally bound to the rock, either because they stood out under their name (Bill Justis, Blurt, Boots Randolph, Daniel Flores, Junior Walker, King Curtis, Red Prysock, etc.), or because they were an integral part of a rock band (Andy MacKay, Chris Moore, Dana Colley, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Gareth Sager, Ian McDonald, Steven Brown, Terry Edwards, etc.).

Without forgetting any renowned jazzmen : Brandford Marsalis, David Sanborn, John Zorn, Lol Coxhill, Michael Brecker, Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter, etc.

Listening of a selection from 15 to 20 musical or video extracts, in which the saxophone holds a particular place(square). Comments on the musical extract, the musician, the music group, the musical style.
