Biography

DUO Petrauskis are one of the most artistically vivid and notable concert duos in Latvia. They regularly perform in Latvia and around the world. The special sound of the duet is based on the masterful talents Oskars (saxophone) and Raimonds ( piano), as well as great emotional self-sacrifice in tandem with an amazing sense of mutual harmony. The secret to this is probably at least in part related to the fact that two musicians are brothers. That allows them to understand each other without words or even without looking at each other. This is very intuitive and directly natural thing.

Cycle Inspirations for saxophone and piano was created by Raimonds and Oskars Petrauski on music who has inspired and influenced us- personally and musically. Music combines different musical worlds – classical, crossing over, jazz etc. All the pieces are inspired from music of A.Piazzolla, J.S. Bach, A.Skulte, A.Vivaldi, G.Bizet, P.Desmond, S.Rollins, A. Di Miola and others. Collection of original pieces will present unique and most unexpected blend of theese different musical worlds. Also leaving space for improvisation.
