Biography
New York City based Geoffrey Landman and Basel based Patrick Stadler first met while studying together in Marcus Weiss’ studio at the Musik-Akademie in Basel in 2007. Since then, both have made a mark on the new music community performing with groups such as Ensemble Nikel, Either/Or, Talea Ensemble, and Ensemble Inverspace, and having worked with composers such as Bernhard Lang, Georges Aperghis, Beat Furrer, and Christian Lauba. The two founded a duo during the 2014 Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music and followed their appearance there with a recording of Isang Yun’s “Inventionen” in Basel. The duo’s upcoming season includes appearances at the D’Addario studios in both Los Angeles and NYC, as well as performances in San Fransisco and Boston.
