Biography

Saxophonist Gary Keller has enjoyed a fourty year career performing and recording with his own band and a wide array of artists and ensembles, including The Jaco Pastorius Big Band, Maria Schneider, Jim McNeely, David Liebman, Marko Marcinko, Vince Mendoza, Manny Album, Kenny Werner, Billy Hart, Chico O’Farrill, Kenny Wheeler, Natalie Cole, Clare Fischer, Woody Herman, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, and the UM Frost Concert Jazz Band. He has performed and recorded with the Florida Philharmonic, New World Symphony, and the American Jazz Philharmonic. His debut CD “Blues For An Old New Age” garnered critical praise, including a near perfect rating from prestigious Penguin Guide to Recorded Jazz. Keller is Professor of Saxophone at the University of Miami and founder of the Miami Saxophone Quartet
