After performing at the previous Congresses, the German saxophone quartet Vierung will present Carla Bleys’ compositions, characterized by her very personal contribution to the world of jazz.
Biography
The saxophone quartet “Vierung” has been founded 15 years ago in Hamburg, Germany and performs regularly in northern Germany. The members of the group are professional musicians playing with ensembles from Big Band to classical formations.
After presenting the music of Sting on the 2012 World Saxophone Congress in St. Andrews, Scotland we’ll perform our versions of Carla Bleys compositions. All the arrangements are done by members of the quartet.
