More information
Claudio Gabriele’s music is a pulse of the soul, a connection between body and mind, urgency to achieve the Beautiful and the Good. His style is bound to tradition, but at the same time is renewed with the fusion of elements of theatre, dance, visual arts, technology, video, electroacoustic, interactions between architecture and sound sources. Claudio Gabriele’s artistic expression is always oriented towards communication and transmission of a pure message, alternating humorous situations to atmospheres of dreams and meditation, almost an evocation of parallel worlds, but always with a sense of deep reflection on today’s life. In recent years he has specialized in the literature for saxophone, writing dozens of compositions for famous soloists as Philippe Geiss, Frederick Hemke, Jean-Michel Goury, Jean-Pierre Caens, Dennis Shafer, Ken Radnofsky, often using instrumental extended techniques, including also electroacoustics. His music for saxophone is written in a variety of formations: solo, duo, trio, quartet, “concertante” for saxophone and orchestra, large ensembles of twelve or more saxophones. All these compositions are consistently published, recorded and performed throughout the world by renowned artists, such as Ogni Suono Saxophone Duo (Noa Even, Phil Pierick), Quatuor Apollinaire (Jean-Michel Goury), Frederick Hemke Sax Ensemble, Palma de Mallorca Sax Ensemble, Xasax Saxophone Quartet (JM Goury, M. Weiss, S. Bertocchi, PS Meugé), Amethyst Quartet, Echo Rogue Saxophone Quartet (Jeff Vickers), Anubis Quartet, Shafer Saxophone Quartet, H2 Saxophone Quartet. Claudio Gabriele’s works are usually performed in all last year’s NASA Conferences and World Sax Conferences (Thailand, Scotland). According to Dr. Frederick Hemke, “Claudio Gabriele is one of the greatest composers for saxophone”. For more details please visit the website: www.claudiogabriele.com
