Ars Duo plays Polish Composers

Cooperation between Ars Duo and Polish composers: Alicja Gronau, Dariusz Przybylski and Łukasz Godyla. This composition will be performed at the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg.
Biography
ARS DUO made its debut at the 14th World Saxophone Congress in Ljubljana (2006). In 2014 the duo released the album “Saxophone Conversations” (DUX) with works by Lauba, Hindemith, Beffa, Desenclos, Tansmann, Thomys. The Duo has performed in Poland, Austria, France, Switzerland. It has realized the project of world premieres of Austrian composers: Viola Falb, Julia Schreitl, Christoph Siman, Alexander Kral, and by Polish composer Łukasz Godyla. In 2015 the ensemble is going to premiere a piece by another Polish composer – Alicja Gronau. Ars Duo is committed to the development of classical saxophone performance in Poland.

There will be three compositions, written for Ars Duo by three Polish composers:
1. Alicja Gronau – new piece (to be premiered during the Congress) – 5 short mouvements (5 min.)
2. Dariusz Przybylski – Onyx (sopranos and altos, 2011) – in one mouvement (5 min.)
3. Lukasz Godyla – Telegraf (for two alto saxophones, 2012), realized thanks to Ministry of Culture, Music and Danse Institute grant – 5 mouvements attacca (less than 10 min.).
