More information
The RNCM Saxophone Orchestra’s performance at this year’s World Saxophone Congress is the culmination of their year-long campaign ‘RNCM Saxophone Orchestra: Road to Strasbourg’. A student-led initiative, the campaign was designed to engage with musicians and music lovers across the North West of England whilst helping to raise money for the project. Through a series of concerts, busking and the odd cake sale, the orchestra have been able to fund their visit to WSC 2015.
Exploiting the versatility of the saxophone, the RNCM Saxophone Orchestra will present a programme taking inspiration from jazz, contemporary classical and folk music. Their programme will premier a number of new commissions by upcoming and well-established British composers.
