Biography

Current was founded in Oslo, Norway, 2010 out of the common wish of performing contemporary music written for saxophone quartet.
The members of the quartet are based in Oslo, and are educated from the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Royal Conservatory in Århus, Denmark, as well as part studies in Japan and France.
The quartet’s main interest is to perform music especially written for the ensemble.
Among venues the Quartet has played so far is: The Scandivanian Saxophone festival 2011, 2012 and 2013, Grønland Mikro World Festival 2011, World Saxophone Congress XVI July 2012 and Selmer Paris Showroom ( Concert à la Fontaine) in Paris and in various other performances in Norway.

In this concert we wish to present one piece written for us, by a nordic composer; Johan Svenson`s: Alba and an arrangement of Edvard Grieg`s: Holdberg suite. So a concert of music from the nordic countries.
