The Amigo Saxophone Quartet, with members from Belgium, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore, brings to the 17th World Saxophone Congress a program of three pieces by three prominent Asian composers.
Biography
Amigo Saxophone Quartet is a modular saxophone chamber group based primarily in Southeast Asia. Meeting each other at various international saxophone events around the globe.
Since its inception, the Amigo Saxophone Quartet has performed at the 15th and 16th World Saxophone Congress and in various parts of Asia. Since 2011, the Amigo Saxophone Quartet has become the resident chamber group for the Singapore Saxophone Symposium.
Since its formation, the Amigo Saxophone Quartet has been an advocate of new music, especially those of Southeast Asian Composers. Since 2009, the Amigo Saxophone Quartet has premiere music by Singaporean composers such as Dr. Zechariah Goh Toh Chai and Emily Koh.
