Biography

XASAX is a french/swiss saxophone ensemble founded in Paris in 1992. The ensemble has performed a number of new pieces by major composers of the avantgarde scene. XASAX played at many festivals of comtemporary music in places like: Salzburg, Paris, Witten, Munich, Berlin, Zurich, Milan, Madrid, Prague, Hamburg, Cologne, Chicago, Odessa, Kazan, Moscow.
Geneviève Strosser is one of the leading french violists not only in the field of contemporary music. She plays at major festivals and has premiered many new works by composers such as: Peter Eötvös, Heinz Holliger, Georges Aperghis, Stefano Gervasoni and many others.

We will play a program with two quintets for viola and four saxophones: CROSSWIND (1997) by greek Georges Aperghis (1949) and a new piece by swiss composer Rudolf Kelterborn (1931).
