Here is a work composed by Christopher Greco for alto saxophone and strings.
Biography
Dr. Christopher Greco is an American award winning composer, saxophonist / woodwind performer, and professor of music. He engages in a broad and diverse range of chamber, concert hall, electro-acoustic, and jazz music. Music studies as a composer and multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, clarinet, flute) were completed in Los Angeles.
Greco composes in cycles, maintains an active performance itinerary as a classical saxophone recitalist and jazz artist, teaches, engages in a wide range of research, publishes, and continues to follow a musical path of accumulation and discovery.
More information
The work “Point of Light” for alto saxophone and strings by Christopher Greco is structured into three parts, continuously performed (15 minutes). There are elements of western music traditions, non-western influences, and contemporary music traditions.
One part has the option of utilizing the saxophone intersecting with technology, an electro-acoustic modification (laptop with Max7). Depending on the performance environment, the technology can be included or excluded. My suggestion for this proposal and venue that it be excluded.
