Biography

Inventia Trio is composed of the saxophonist Dariusz Samol, flutist – Agata Igras-Sawicka and pianist Ewa Ruszala. Created in 2013, after its first performance caused interests of some composers to write new pieces for this ensemble. Some important events where they took a part in 2014 are: International Saxophone Festival in Szczecin, Summer Academy of Winds in Wolsztyn, National Saxophone-Clarinet Workshops in Ostrow Wlkp.
They gave the Polish Premiere of “Trio no.1” for saxophone, flute and piano by Russel Peterson, and “Dash” by Jennifer Higdon. The members of Inventia Trio are active as soloists and give concerts and recitals in Europe, United States, South America and Asia. They are also teaching at the university level in University of Music in Warsaw and Academy of Art in Szczecin.

The program of the ensemble consists with the pieces written by composers from the United States , Poland , and China. The first version of Notturno: in memoriam Toru Takemitsu for violin, saxophone and piano by Marylin Shrude was premiered in 1996. The version for flute, saxophone and piano, made by the composer was premiered in 2007. The Polish piece Bartokiana by Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil was composed oryginaly for two cellos and piano for 50th anniversary of the death of Bela Bartok. The composer made the second version for the Inventia Trio in 2015. Language of the Wind by Zhong Juncheng was written for Inventia Trio in 2014. The last two pieces will have first European performance at the WSC 2015 in Strasbourg.
