Biography

CubanoSax gathers quartet of saxophones and a percussionist. Angel Ballester, soprano, founder member of the quartet Habanasax, has a very varied career which brings him to travel around the world. Irving Acao, alto, collaborated with the biggest artists of the Latin-jazz such as Tito Puente, Chucho Valdez and Arturo Sandoval. Eduardo Fernandez, tenor, founder member of the quartet Habanasax, is also a creator and a conductor of the group MiSol. Geoffrey Doucet, baritone, is a member of the duet Belharra and teach in the CRD of Dieppe. Abraham Mansfarroll, drums, collaborated with artists such as Charles Aznavour or Tito Puente. These five musicians, all graduated from the best French and Cuban conservatories, master as well classic music, jazz and cuban music.

From one of the most beautiful standards of jazz of Charlie Parker, ” Yardbird suite “, composed in 1946, the quintet pulls us then in Clifford Brown’s universe by interpreting “Joy Spring”. This standard stemming from the album ” Clifford Brown and Max Roach ” taken out in 1955 has influenced several generations of musicians. The trip continues in Cuba with two world creations ” Olor has Yerba ” and ” Altas it bajas ” composed by Angel Ballester, soprano saxophone of the formation.
