Anyway, I think with my Knees.
To make Dancers and Musicians share the same stage
Biography
Passionate about Dance and Music, Leo has been playing with dancers these last 4 years.
His last performance took place at the Auditorium of the Cite de la Musique de Strasbourg where he created a musical background on stage around 8 dancers.
In 2014, he created a partnership with the Strasbourg Conservatory Class of Francis Viet and will regularly share their art .
The idea of the project is to connect mouvement and sound through 2 basic connections :
-i hear; i move
-i see, i play
The whole group is composed of 4 dancers of the Conservatoire (mixing jazz and contemporary class) and also 4 saxophonists, actual and former students of Philippe Geiss.
More information
Step by step, i’d like to create an obvious connection between music and dance.
While beginning the performance alone, playing In Freundschaft of Stockhausen, I initiate the correlation.
The second piece the whole group will rotate around is called Imaginary Dances, written by Philippe Geiss.
From this point, every entry on stage will function as a pair sax/dance
Slowly improvising and initiating the theme of the piece, every duet will enter the scene.
Once playing the piece, the atmosphere and the behaviour of the dancers will suddenly change.
To finish we come back to an improvised sequence;
